So what sort of tricks might we see a dodgy company get up to, that could prove the operation smells like dead fish?
If you are a gullible shareholder and you are prepared to accept without question the extortionate information or lack of information they do or don’t give in a timely manner, they will do nothing but relieve you of your money, simple as that.
But if you question their dealings or complain about the disjointed or lack of information coming out of the company, then woe betide you.
They will probably consign you to their Share Holder Relations Manager who is permanently blindfolded so that he sees no other viewpoint than the company's, or they will introduce you to a whole host of other Advisers who are similarly blinkered and obviously don't work to the same set of guidelines.
Each one will tell you a different story and you will eventually get completely pissed off because you are getting nowhere.
A few letters may ensue and those you receive will merely confirm that neither the Share Holder Relations Manager, nor his staff, is sufficiently well educated to construct a grammatically-correct letter without spelling mistakes.
All you can then try to do is expose their practices, as some people are starting to do now.
