I have a slightly different take on that. Realistically, AKP has had many 'produced' versions of their chips over the last decade and a half. I suspect the graph is stating that they have alpha and beta production runs of chips which have achieved 50dB and 60dB respectively, and that they are currently developing a final 'production' version of the chip based on simulations which they expect will achieve 70dB.

And of course the graph shows that competitors such as uSound have only achieved 40dB! That's a quarter of the SPL that AKP has achieved and an eigth of the 70dB target we should be manufacturing imminently!
