I follow all the bank threads and simply replied to a statement made on this thread that I thought was incredibly self-serving and short sighted. If the same comment had been made on the Macquarie thread I would have responded there. I'm certainly not suggesting it's any reason to sell CBA.
Having said that I think Macquarie's sins are generally different. I posted a bunch of similar comments on the other banking threads around the time of the RC itself. It's simply a comment that banks need to improve their ethics and we will all be better off including their shareholders.
It wouldn't stop me buying bank shares, I'll probably pick up some Suncorp this week. CBA is generally the pick of the big 4 but it's run too hard imho.
