Don't know if you're a Greenlander youself or not, but I suspect you might be. Anyway if you are maybe you also know some IA members, Greenland being a big place but with a very small and, I imagine, close knit community. If you do you might just pass this by them (on my behalf --- or leave me out of it entirely if you want):

The resource GGG was given a right to explore for is part of your communal heritage. However keeping that heritage locked up in a world hungry for then is like just burying your gold in the sand whilst the price of gold breaks all records. So rather than stopping the project dead in its tracks, a decision which may come back to haunt you and could one day be reversed (quite likely I'm afraid), insist on a direct ownership interest by the GoG in the project ------ like 20% or 25% of the shares in GGG maybe .... and that carried free.

That way (1) the GoG will be in a good position to demand seats on the board of GGG and thus (2) will always be in a position to ensure 100% that appropriate environmental GUARANTEES are in place AND are actually observed (not just more "blah blah blah" as Greta would say) and to stop the project in its tracks should enviromnetal issues arise once exploitation starts. (3) As key members of the board, the GoG would then automatically be made aware of any further deals, dirty tricks or chicaneries. (4) Your birthright remains (at least in part) in your names and largely under your control. There are precedents for this type of arrangement within the mining community.
