That's right. Because God a spirit person, not a physical person, he cannot be described in physical terms. However it is possible to come to know and reflect his personality.
(Colossians 3:10) and clothe yourselves with the new personality, which through accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image of the One who created it ,

MrG (Colossians 1:15) is referring to Jesus, if God is Spirit and Jesus is the image of the invisible God what is it telling you about Jesus
