I can understand your frustration, seemingly being so close yesterday and today seemingly so far away - but as I have mentioned on another thread my view is that the CTP board have facilitated a way to try to remove the fly in the ointment (BG). And I might say its a very well thought out plan, that clearly has been in the making for while with considerable thought put into it - that alone suggest to me that the CTP management have not been caught napping, they are busily working as they are expected to do for all shareholders (remembering that they TOO are shareholders!).
I have suffered similar frustrations with many different boards/management in a number of companies I have either invested in or been involved with in a commercial way, and one thing for sure is that its easy to throw mud and look at things without having all the balls in the air that management has to consider in making any decision.
I believe that CTP has built up some very considerable and valuable oil/gas assets in a strategic location in Australia, and through the biggest downturn in our lifetimes (both financial and investment downturns) CTP has managed to retain its hold over the assets AND at the same time to in fact raise considerable cash to come out of the GFC in much better shape than most junior exploration companies - that can only be considered a major achievement by the management team.
I actually rate the existing company management at CTP very highly based on those achievements, so to your question, do I think they are worthy of continuing to run the ship - ABSOLUTELY!
As a corollary to that view, IF management was changed out, do you have anyone that is in a better position to do a better job? I would be hesitant to believe many (maybe Andrew Forrest and the Canadian Robert Friedland, would be acceptable provided we didn't have to give them half the farm in the process, Lol) could do any better than the existing team.
