Goldmad,
Indeed quite exciting new chapter here...Im waiting patiently for this preclinical data and read.
New guys to us, there is already a link between Heart Inflammation and Pentosan, here is a re-cap:

PART 1 - Published 5th June 2021
“The medical literature tells us that the most effective ways to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and many more problems are through healthy diet and exercise. Our bodies have evolved to move, yet we now use the energy in oil instead of muscles to do our work.”
— Dr. David Suzuki
Yes while that is so true, it's not easy to constantly exercise and 90% of the time to eat good healthy food...it's an early blank canvas for iPPS.
different tact tonight....nope..I'm not going to cover OA....nor am I mentioning MPS....
Tonight, I give you my heart...well actually not mine...but Heart Failure.
What is it...how prevalent and what has it at all to do with us?
Bahh, you will love this heartfelt post...
Sorry, must refrain on the dad jokes.Remember as per usual, I'm not a medical authority, I do have a stethoscope somewhere around the house but that wouldn't account for much. Always best to consult your registered medical practitioner if you need any assistance or guidance in this matter. The views here are purely mine and you should not rely on myself as a principle or peripheral source of info whatsoever. No advice is contained in these posts and you should consult a financial advisor if you need advice on stocks.
We'll break this up again into two parts as there is a lot to cover.
You got a good Mozz Bonus last time with the MPS rats post...this time I'll uncover a super clue...we could call it a link.
It's a bit of a science fest/journey so sit back, find yourself a comfy chair...stick with it, I will try to make it as light as I can, the underneath material is quite heavy but you will learn a stack...I certainly did...and not just some theoretical cr*p...it pertains directly to the shareholding you own. Even if you care not for the science, try and read this one fully, it's an amazing journey if I can say so myself.
A definition here can be as simple as a few worded statement or can be as in depth as a multi page full study.
Lets opt for the easy/quick version:
"Heart failure is a condition that develops when your heart doesn’t pump enough blood for your body’s needs." 1
Heart failure itself can affect adults and even sometimes children. It can develop over many years slowly building up, or it can be quite sudden in it's development.Heart attacks and heart failure are two different conditions that are both types of heart disease. So what's the difference?
Heart attacks result when there is a loss of supply of blood to the heart. Heart failure as mentioned above, is the inability for the heart to pump blood.
There are a number of types of heart failure and these can be broadly classified into:
Coronary Heart Disease
Heart Inflammation
High Blood Pressure
Cardiomyopathy
Irregular Heartbeat
What should we watch out for?
- Feeling tired
- Shortness of breath
- Fluid buildup in lower body
- Neck pain
Indeed heart failure is the most common ailments. Some 6.2 Million adults in the US have heart failure.2 In 2018 there were some 379,900 heart failure related deaths in the US. Heart disease was the number one killer in the world in 2019.
Here is an interesting one...did you know the prevalence can vary by county in the US?
Take a look at this one:
So what are the risk factors and what is the link between OA and heart failure? Well the factors include, but not limited to:
Diabetes
High Blood Pressure
Unhealthy diet
Little to no exercise
Excessive alcohol
Smoking
Family history
The link between OA and heart failure potentially is once you have an upper grading of OA, it's harder to exercise due to the pain and lack of flexibility. This adds to the problems and the heart can suffer as a consequence. It is in this indirect way that OA can also be deemed to be a serious disease. It's the subsequent repercussions that can lead to further serious problems.
“We may not look sick but turn our bodies inside out and they tell a different story.”
— Wade Sutherland
I studied the heart in Year 9 Phys Ed theory, loved it. I loved memorising all the terms..loved the anatomy...then I never used it for the next 30 odd years...until now....
Never thought I would revisit it...sure I don't have to remember all the parts and terms now...but Paradigmers, as my first real long term Bio-Pharma investment play, it's even more exciting to read of our journey...and you know what, the best part HASN'T EVEN STARTED! Wait till we get massive sales volumes...wait till we hear of additional indications we pursue...wait till we become a real global force...(my views)...the journey is just starting and you, as I keep saying, are darned early...getting in at $2.20 is superb if you can hold for the long term...(not advice, my opinions).
End of Part 1.
In Part 2 we will explore the heart a bit more, we will come across an old friend and how iPPS buddies up with them. We will uncover more about this friend and just what sort of pivotal role they may play in a number of indications. We also uncover just what role iPPS may play in this entire important region of the heart....can't wait to tell you all about it.
