It is stupid, but that's how it works. Take the the whole "shutup and take my money" slogan. It was a cringey, outdated and forced meme from Futurama, but now it has become synonymous with KFC here in Aus. You even find it intertwined with Australian pop culture.
You and I might think it's dumb; but the everyday, salt of the earth people who eat KFC are getting the message regardless - and that's all that matters.
So, it's working.
