There are two risks, with different likelihoods and different consequences

The first risk is that Omni gains a foothold and creates a new wave of pandemic.

The other risk is that Omni triggers a massive degrossing and deleveraging event in global financial markets, due to the possibility (or even plausibility) that the first risk may eventuate.

There are inter-related events, but each unfolding according to a different timeline and their own mechanics (i.e., markets can crash in anticipation of Omni even if no global outbreak of Omni actually materialises)
