Regarding the Covid virus, an infected person with covid symptoms has from a billion to many billions of virus particles in their body.
Each replication creates an opportunity for a mutation and with hundreds of millions of people already infected many mutations occur each day.
The vast majority of mutations are harmless but it's inevitable a truly nasty mutations will occur.
We've seen Alpha, Delta and now what could be the worst yet has signalled its arrival.
Meanwhile we should heed the advice of virologists as they understand the dangers more than anyone posting here.
