    I think that the best answer here is that as a day trader you don't really have a portfolio. You would be holding cash in your trading account as a float and only trading when confident to do so, and generally exiting the same day or shortly thereafter.

    If you are looking for advice on ST MT and LT trading this is probably the wrong forum but for what its worth:

    On the day trading side I am all cash except for a weekend hold in BBUS to sell on Monday

    On the investing side I have sold down to about 30% invested in my investing portfolio over the last 6 months and am holding 70% cash for later purchases at lower levels, which I believe are incoming.
