"You don't have to be a psychologist , you just need to think it through ,"

    A psychologist might explain:

When our behaviour clashes with our attitude, we tend to change the attitude, not the behaviour.

I may have had the best of non-violent parenting intentions, but the first time I hurt my child, I'll tell myself that I was right.

    Rather than admit I wasn't.

(The term for this is "cognitive dissonance".)
