High volatility means more premium. That’s why Z1P is such a good option play. That’s the beauty of a covered call. If there’s a massive upswing, your shares may get called away at that price - but you aren’t stuck with some massive bill. You could then sell cash secured puts at lower strikes to collect premium and if it hits you get your shares back. There’s a concept called ‘wheeling’ a stock which is pretty much this.
tastyworks for US and IBKR for AustraliaYeah you’re right. Duly noted. I think Australian’s would benefit massively if they learnt the basics of how options strats can protect and monetise a portfolio. It’s really not hard. Anyone can do it and even the ASX website has a good educational section for it.
