Well I think empirically speaking there is more truth in longer term trends, but TA on hourly/daily i.e. shorter terms heads and shoulders, cups and handles etc they are predictors of volume at best (and only because people have been programmed to see such patterns). its even thought that TA was dreamed up just to encourage more retail trading.
