It's weird. A cursory glance through human history would show you that our immune systems alone often don't protect us as a species.
This 'immune system' group often tends to otherwise live healthy lives. They train their bodies via physical exercise, but refuse to train their immune systems to know what to expect and how to defeat it.
In the end that's what the jabs are, something to give your immune system a heads up as to what might be coming, and how to identify/defeat it.
