They only sold ~1.8 million shares over 3 months at the beginning of the year. This amount of shares has been traded in single days recently so no it has nothing to do with the current stock price.
We can only speculate as to why the SP hasn't yet climbed as much as we might have hoped by now but here are a few of my thoughts on the matter: - Investors waiting for Planum Partners funding announcements (due Jan-Feb). As without this they can't build the S.A plant. - Investors waiting for other metrics. I've interacted with a number of people in online investing forums who have been watching the stock but are still taking a wait and see approach. For example waiting to see how quickly and successfully they can build and run their first self owned plant. - Existing holders unwilling to pay a premium on SP when we have been accustomed to accumulating it ~20c. - Company still relatively unknown. - Potential investors see the on paper loss from last FY and don't look any further. - Lot more buzz around other renewables stocks at the moment and investors are chasing gains there.
With that in mind here are the reasons I'm accumulating. - 74% of stock owned by top 20 holders. When it finally does move it will move fast IMO. Those taking the wait and see approach risk missing those gains. - Lot more buzz around other renewables stocks at the moment. Why chase gains by investing in overpriced stocks like hydrogen when you can get in before the pump on something that is ready to go now. - Company still relatively unknown. - Last FY lost could potentially case this years financials to look better than it really was as the delayed payments appear on the balance sheet. - So much progress and good news since IPO and can still get IPO prices.
