I have two problems with using trends to inform decision making.
Which trend should I consider, one minute, one hour, one week, ,one year, one decade? Each of them might tell me something different, the trend may be my friend but which one is the true friend I have no way of knowing.
They are all about the past whereas my decisions will have consequences for me in the future. I don't steer my car looking in the rear view mirror.
