I agree 100% with you but broaching public debt & a proposed strategy to pay it down at election time is a job for Statesmen, not Machiavellian hacks who call themselves politicians!
Economic management is not about flogging the credit card; but instead recognising our economic woes, devising an economic plan and convincing that its the right thing for Aus long term and then implementing it.
