Hi Scott thank you for the encouragement.

Regarding the supplements. I first started taking selenium and fish oil over 25 years ago. I live in NZ and our soils are selenium deficient. My understanding is that it is widely accepted by mainstream doctors here that selenium supplementation is important for reducing the risk of prostrate cancer. Just recently I saw an article saying that taking to much selenium can increase the risk of prostrate cancer, so I might half my dose. Similarly years ago fish oil was touted as being good for cardiovascular health by the mainstream media. I get the impression it has been discredited a little lately but I still see recommendations to eat seafood. I avoid eating fish because of over fishing. The last few years I have been eating 4 or 5 green shelled mussels (aquaculture grown) most days. And I still take one fish oil capsule out of habit.

The vitamin D,vitamin K2 and zinc are recent additions. I read that people hospitalised with covid are tested for nutritional status and that a deficiency of vitamin D and zinc is common. John Campbell has a lot on it. The K2 complements the Vitamin D, assists with calcium balance. Quercetin is ment to improve the absorbsion of zinc into cells where it is said to inhibit viral replication. Quercetin is also a calcium channel blocker.

Magnesium also complements the vitamin D and is another calcium channel blocker. Why I am interested in CCB's is I have a genetic problem, a gene with a blue print for a certain protein in cells is not quite right, and one of its functions is calcium homeostasis. So I am experimenting with what I can. I might see a neurologist about it next year but no hurry, there aren't much in the way of treatments available for this, also its an obscure sort of thing that most doctors even specialists are unfamiliar with. Because this protein influences mitochondria I take the mitoq, nicotinamide ribose and pterostibene. As a consequence of having this problem I have experienced a bit of medical misadventure over the years which has reduced my confidence in Doctors.

Calcium channel blockers are commonly prescribed to reduce blood pressure. I have never had high blood pressure and am keeping an eye on it because of a risk my pressure might go to low. Supplements are generally alot more subtle than drugs. No problems so far.

No doubt some or a lot of the supplements aren't doing much for me and possibly some are even doing me harm but hopefully on balance they are positive. Having good circulation is important for cancer prevention and probably also covid prevention. Quite a few of my supplements are positive for blood flow, like the fish oil and vitamin B complex (niacin especially dilates blood vessels).

I am on HC for the investment chat but since this covid thing started I have spent most of my time on the threads about covid and the vaccine. I take covid seriously, and learn what I can here. Kind regards.
