sorry but that is luddite thinking. World population is heading to a plateau by 2050-2075, and we will all benefit from that especially by putting a cap on meat / methane emissions and further reclaiming of virgin lands and forests for the extra millions.

But who wants to be constrained by present day per capita energy consumption.

History of all human development is that energy use per capita is exponentially growing. With renewable sources like solar/hydrogen and fusion, this will continue into 2100's, and we will all benefit from significantly better and cleaner lifesytles.
