On a positive note I used HummTap at Bunnings today - worked like a dream considering they are not an authorised merchant.
Tap is such a convenience tool - it's just a thumb print. One negative was the checkout had not seen the card before ????? so come on get out there and use these "non merchants" live Harvey Norman/ David Jones etc
Bit concerned about Canada launch however in the current environment if a delayed launch is about staying profitable then so be it. Clearly the end is nigh for certain BNPL competitors - irrelevant how much they transact - every sale appears to be an increasing loss with more regulation and compliance costs coming.
Who on earth would lend them more money to keep head above water, while Humm quietly sits on that built up war-chest we all wonder what they are going to do with it.
Lets hope they really are smarter then the average bear.........and they find a couple of institutions who see value in what they are building.
