I notice a lot of comments distorting labors plan by making comments about cutting funding to private schools.

It is not ALL private schools but only higher fee schools.

I can see both sides of the arguement here, the parents of the children going to the high fee private shcools pay taxes and therefore have a right to some of this being used for their childrens education as do all other parent taxpayers.

However labors plan of working on a figure of $12000 per year per student is also a means of ensuring limited funds are not payed to schools that do not need it at the expense of those that do.

Yes public schools do get the bulk of government education funding but they alos have the bulk of the students.

Under Labors plan the higher fee elite schools may have to put up their fees to compensate for lost government funding making them unaffordable for some. But those private schools that have fees under $12000 should be receiving more funding making them more affordable for some and the government schools should receive more funding.
