Just because a company says "CNN" or "neural network processor" instead of specifically mentioning "neuromorphic" or "spiking neural network" doesn't mean much. They are being broad in their terminology to cover a wider range of solutions. This let's the use the one patent without tying themselves down to a specific hardware choice.
