This now certainly explains it better. The riddle will be cracked though when enough new Omicron cases are compared to the those in the African Molnupiravir trials and both sets of genomes matched for likeness. Although it won't be a straight forward argument, and you can bet that Merck will be defending their science religiously.

Now for the conspiratorists. They'll have a field day with this. Big pharma changing the genome to create new C19 variants to keep the big money wheel turning. Now that the world is waking up to how poorly their vaccines work, they've moved onto so-called antivirals..... bla bla bla

But here is a potential twist to their ignorance. The mutagenic Molnupiravir theory being generated to dicredit the drug is a hoax, an attempt to keep the vaccines roilling..........

or

The mutagenic Molnupiravir theory being generated is nothing more than a bunch of stock market traders protecting their own investment in another drug company.

Now, this angle has a certain nice ring to it.
