I haven't followed ORI closely for some years but if I recall correctly they bought this business in 2005 or 2006 for something close to $900m. Today they are selling it for $180m.
It's one of many illustrations of the extent to which the majority of acquisition-driven growth strategies end up being little more than a transfer of wealth from the shareholders of the acquiring company to those of the business being acquired.
