Mate, the NT is just catching up to the rest of Australia, here in Qld our border just opened this morning, vaxx rates are around 90% ofr 1st vaxx and over 80% for second, if the virus runs rampant in unvaxxed people hospitalisation will increase and I suspect very few Aust hospitals are equipped to deal with these numbers. Qld has had a very low infection rate but we expect that will increase now with open national (well most) and international arrivals. It's all about hospitalisation rates and IMO the "Duty of Care " legislation all Australian states operate under is a possible driving force.
