It seems the reality is that Glencore is going to have to shutter the Mt Isa copper smelter in the next two years as they have had no luck finding a new copper source in the area. Either due to their slow, bureaucratic approach, or no significant deposits left. Pointless them being a toll smelter.
At the moment the operation is on borrowed time and running with QLD govt funding.
Would Mt Isa end up being a ghost town?
RNX are such a slick operation. What are the chances RNX can bring a new dawn to QLD copper mining in Mt Isa with their unique approach?
