well what concerns me and possibly others is that sometime in the first half of this year you increased your holding from 1,120,000 UMC shares to 1,775,000 shares.
You bought an additional 655,000 shares.

That in itself might seem innocent enough I suppose.

However seeing as though you are in the top 20 of both UMC and VNS, being an ex director of UKD (which is UMC) and also considering the common directors between both companies I would go out on a limb here and speculate that you might have a relationship here that extends beyond casual conversations between mums and dads shareholders and company management.

Enough for you to warrant increasing your holding by 655,000.

HOWEVER, now as per UMC's own admission BHP and UMC have been in discussions since early 2009 over a possible takeover to the point that the Big Australian, the worlds largest mining house had done due diligence on UMC and the Railway deposit.

So how is it fair and equitable to us mums and dads investors that Matt can tell you and not the rest of us about this little oversight, THAT THE WORLDS LARGEST MINING HOUSE WAS INTERESTED IN TAKING OVER UMC.

Unless of course he didn't....which is a possibilty.

So by your own admission even when the charts said buy at 40c and 60c you ignored them?

Perhaps you were waiting for something more definate, more concrete, more substantiated, more guaranteed before you decided to buy another 655,000 UMC shares?

Then again maybe not?

The way I see it, if enough people complain and it certainly appears that is the case and likely what is to happen and ASIC do investigate it puts yours and Matt's relationship and your recent purchases in a very tenable position.

And they certainly do have the means to track purchase dates etc, as no doubt being an ex broker you are well aware of.

It may turn out that you have been misled, misinformed and duped just like the rest of us.
But that is not for me to say and will not be determined by me or anyone else on here.

Fortunately for you, you are either in the UK, Spain, Korea or wherever and it may not come to that just yet.
