    Very nicely explained.

    Basically, the way I see it 1) they're like the ASX being an exchange, they list bonds, and they act as a match-maker between buyers and sellers. 2) They're the Computershare/Linkt/Boardroom registry services, ABE has developed their own but for bonds. 3) They are also a broker, think CommSec for example, who retail investors can use to purchase bonds, without all the barries to entry previously discussed.

    It took me awhile to find this, but I knew I had a vague memory of it somewhere.
