yes i have wondered about this too.. both can be used in catalytic converters and whilst recent prices have driven a move to substitution away from palladium i think it is still the preferred metal...not sure about the supply dynamics of Pt But Pd went through the roof when the norlisk mine flooded and had building collpases .. because they produce so much of the world supply there might be a bit of a risk premium there also .
