BTW - The mild stinging IMO is not a concern at all. Most antibiotics are quite irritating. It is, for this reason, a lot of antibiotics are given in dilution over a period of time. Even Amoxacillian can't be given as direct push as it is usually given over a 3-4 min push. However, most are diluted in a 100ml bag or burette filled from the main intravenous fluid bag and then administered slowly over 30-60mins. Even some oral antibiotics are irritating to the stomach and cause nausea and sometime vomiting.
