1. Why roll it out in summer? Used as a booster with flue Vax. Roll out in feb-mar heading into winter.
2. If they roll it out earlier, pfizer and AZ booking will be cancelled for Novavax leaving a PR disaster for unused vaccines going out of date. (Similar seen with AZ for Pfizer)
3. Can be used as political points (assurity) for economy coming into winter. Something along the lines of "we have secured these doses of novavax to better protect Australians from flue and coronavirus during winter... look how great we are at saving lives and thinking about your best interest"
there's more but the timing coming into winter is why I think it's being held back...
