he's got very flat country going ------------------- I do have that choice here
he carried everything himself ---------- I'd not planned for that - I've done the previous ones with multiple coffee stops and feed breaks --
traveled light - it would make a difference carrying several more kilos
his time is about where I thought I would be - from memory - I thought about 20 ish hours - depends on how long for breaks ----------------- AND depends on the second 50 km pace -
I know my pace for 50 km is almost spot on 6km per hour --- but, I've no idea on the second 50km
I'm not 'hot' on the idea - it's just something in the back of my mind.
a bike trip like that would be easy ---------------- the only real question on bike I have is how my knees would feel
when I do about the 40 mark on the bike - at the 20 mark - when I stop for a little walk about - then, I get back on - I can 'feel' the knees saying 'wtf??I thought we'd finished' -- they settle in after a very short distance when rewarmed up --------------- but, I don't know what they would think around the 70 to 1oo km mark
anyway ----------- here's his flat country climb stats

my bigger bike rides around here have had rises of several hundred metres - it makes a big difference
