Fragile X is a rare disease, & one of the most difficult things is accessing & recruiting patients with rare disease onto clinical trials.

I see this as a very positive step having both these paediatric specialists onboard to advise on the trial design & also the awareness in the USA for Fragile X Xanamem trial & potentially a cohort of patients that may be suitable for screening & recruitment.

Part of this CR & SPP is going to be used to expand the Fragile X trial into the USA.

This was the first thing that popped into my head on reading this ANN, & I think Dr Gourlay & ACW have made a very good move there & gives Fragile X every chance of success, timely recruitment of patients & expert supervision.

Haven’t had time to think about much else, but very pleased we are going with depression & cognitive impairment. A huge issue & has only gotten worse with COVID-19 lockdowns & financial pressures on families.

Just my 2 bob’s worth & yes agree @Titans19, biomarkers will be very helpful for MCI & AD. Very impressed that ACW & CRO managed full recruitment of Part A during a major COVID-19 outbreak & nothing halted. Times have changed remarkably in clinical trials over the last 2 years with risk mitigation with COVID-19 & a big rethink on de-centralisation of trials utilising increased technology & data collection, globally.

Well said OVF! EU just formally announced they will rightfully and thankfully not approve the relatively ineffective, massively expensive and quite harmful drug aducanubab for Mild AD. The US FDA approval is tragic and I expect further evidence will cause it to be taken from the market. The world is desperate for anything truly preventing or mitigating AD and cognitive decline. Tag we’re it.
Further, a new macro study of the factors associated with AD will be released soon focuses on a range of metabolics that seem to connect cortisol like variables for causation. Here’s to better cognition and reduced depression for everyone. Cheers.
