I don’t understand why you don’t get it.

There are two major reasons for his underperformance.

1. His exposure to China - namely his positions in tencent and alibaba

2. His overweight to cash for too long

Neither of these have anything to do with covid.

he simply read the tea leaves wrong.

Its not complicated.
