While I haven’t read the SMH article, a News Defence article published last month describes two new naval uniforms (MMPU), one being a flame resistant option. The fabrics used in the uniforms are said to be manufactured by Bruck Textiles in Victoria.
Information on the Bruck Textiles’ website suggests that the standard uniform is made from a 75/25 Cotton/Polyester fabric with the flame resistant option using a multifibre blend. The company manufactures inherent FR uniforms using a Nomex/ Lenzing FR textile.
