one silver lining, is the smaller the FUM the more nimble a FM can be in active management.
performance is key. there is nothing that can be done to claw back past performance, but the new year is upon us and that can be a reset button.
momentum is so important in share price direction, and Magellan has none at the moment.
if the flagship fund can break 5-10% away from its benchmark in the first 2 months from January 1 then a comeback story can be told.
the first two months in 2022 are so important.
