Regarding your minor point - yes you are, of course, correct.
There is, however, essentially no difference between the XJO and the STW as a tracking medium for XJO. The STW is based on the XJO Accumulation Index. But dividends are paid out to stock holders on a regular basis - thus keeping the STW more or less in line with the XJO.
Here's the comparison chart of STW and XJO - the correlation is close to perfect.
