Thanks, I am not claiming to be an expert here,My understanding is that maybe it is only half the picture... Shorter would be buying and straight away selling for less(shorting etc.)...add to this mix weak-hands, impatient investors, lack of announcement & or fear of it dropping more (among others) can cause the price to drop like it is today the data I can see doesn't account for the last week or so (so I have no idea)
Although you are correct it should be going up, my take is that if we are seeing less shorting going on then, if and when an announcement comes we should see very little resistance upward from shorter trying to reduce their losses, investors would tend to hold longer and harder, newer investors come onboard etc and forced to offer a premium to get people to sell.
I might be wrong and happy to be corrected....all IMO
