Over 65 Australian companies operate in Argentina, including 10 ASX200 companies. Around $1 billion has been invested in Argentina by Australian firms in the last three years. In 2020 investment reached $765 million. Sectors of interest have included mining (especially lithium and gold), agribusiness, advanced tech and manufacturing, health services, and digital technology.
Argentina has a wealth of natural resources and produces copper, zinc, lead, gold and silver. The Argentine Government continues to prioritise development of the mining and clean energy sectors. The latter has great potential for Australian investors.
