I’ve got news for you. No government involvement leads to greed, humongous amounts of lobbying and a free for all with no direction.
Governments get paid to lead and set the agenda in the interests of the country. This shower, and those of UK, Canada and US do the opposite.
Biden gets it. He’s setting an agenda for revitalisation of the US infrastructure and social backbone. But greed, known colloquially as Republican Right Wingers beholden to Wall Street direction, is fighting it heavily.
It is the case that the states of Australia are leading the way, generally, with build programs and various other Government initiatives, but the Federal level strategy is gone and has been gone for many years.
We’ll end up like the US. Indebted to the heavens with not a lot to show for anything and services driven into the ground by private businesses who, tbh, don’t give a fk.
I read an article in an Engineering Monthly some years ago that stated the infrastructure bill for the US was estimated at $6tn. And not a lot was being done.
We’ll follow like the sheep we are with Liberal (and to a lesser extent) Labor.
Its time to wake up and get our moneys worth from an organisation that is only in it to feather the nests of those who lobby hardest (you know: pay the most coin and put ex politicians in positions post “service” where they earn millions).
