    I feel it would be more equitable to structure this as a capital return. It's a sale of assets, so I can't see why the ASX wouldn't rule in this way.

    Then if they are worried about the number of shares on issue, they could do a 10:1 consolidation at the same time.

    Same effect as what you suggest, only this way everyone gets the same payout, instead of it being a case of first in best dressed on the market.
