It was a surprise to me that we developed an HSV2 vaccination that while it wasn't 100% was at least partially effective, and then dropped it. It would have been attractive to sufferers IMHO. The reasons given, that is that there are other equally effective vaccines (name one) and that it would have been too expensive to market were perplexing to me. If it was too expensive to market, why develop it? I quite realize that there was a changeover in management at about this time which might be an answer in itself but personally I would have preferred to see the vaccine marketed. Maybe just in Sydney for a start to see how it goes. It would of course bolt off the shelves. Not a criticism as such, just an observation..
