All the official information on the Covid vaccines made it clear that the vaccines did not have 100% efficacy to prevent disease. In fact there was disclosed from the outset that there were even differences in level of efficacy between the different vaccines. Thats why I was so annoyed that there was not enough Pfizer and resulted in myself taking the less effective AstraZeneca.
On variants no-one could for certain know the degree of efficacy for those variants that arose. They thought that they would likely help-AND THEY DO, but efficacy is reduced, particularly with those who have received the AstraZeneca.
The Federal govt backed AstraZeneca and gave it to the aged and now Omicron has put all seniors at risk until they can get their booster of Pfizer or Moderna..
