I retired in 2010, when I hear the word "work" I react in the same ways that Maynard G Kebbs did in the Dobie Gillis show from the 60s "WORK?"
If you get to the west coast of Canada visit Victoria (must include a visit to Butchart gardens) , Whistler (go ziplining) and Vancouver (can be expensive , but still worth a visit).
My favourite US visits Yosemite NP , Seattle, Sequoia NP and Portland
