I not once have said they are a threat to us. They raise money here to use to kill, rape, commit ethic genocide, assinate Prime Ministers, and use suicide bombing against innocent civilians. They use children as human shields and held hostage their own people to die along side the terrorists in the dying days of the war. It is highly likely that some LTTE members would seek such a passage as to avoid detection. Mainstream Tamils in Sri Lanka are not under threat, some under a great deal of inconvenience, but not under threat.
They say that their "nation" is northern Sir Lankan and Southern India yet those detest the Tamil in Sri Lnakna due to their terrorism. Are they racist as well?.
The criteria of the UNCHR for refugee status is far less forgiving than our own. It is imperative they are processed by that agency or screend by the Sri Lankan authorities.
If, for me to desire this is racist so be it, a fair better label than being a terrorist sympathiser who supports indirectly the murder and misery of many.
Apparently the LTTE have $400 million dollars, so will pay for lots of boats though have read only 10,000 - 12,000 escape the screening centres....so far.
