"We had a great opportunity to buy up good stocks about 10 months ago, but many stayed out wanting some kind of magical signal to say "now is the time to buy". WPL, CBA and RIO were all down in the 20s! Why didn't many get in then? "
Why do people think just because WPL, CBA and RIO have risen to $50, $60 that it was a good time to buy them when they were around $20?
Fact is it was dangerous to buy then. You were relying on the skill of elected politicians and public servants to get us out of a hole. There was no guarantee they could've pulled it off.
If someone offers you $100k to drive down a highway on the wrong side of the road, and you do it and come out unscathed, it doesn't mean that rejecting the offer was a mistake.
It's all very amusing watching people saying they're "right" or others are "wrong" on calls, when there is no such thing. A successful/failed result depends on random chance.
