it seems that currently there is quite some mixing of host dyke material (diorite?) with the quartz reef, and it's going to be separated at the surface in preference to trying to do it underground
so if the diorite comes out more chunky compared with quartz, then why not use a grizzly to separate it that way? good thinking going on there!
also drilling patterns, drilling depths and charge sizes can be used to encourage the diorite to be blasted out more chunky and quartz is more brittle too I guess, so likely to come out in smaller pieces
