I think the issue has no straight forward answer.
The main reason being.....is not the boat people saga per
We are the problem.
And this thread proves it.
Australians in general are so far up their own you know what.....they dont care what happens to the boat people so long as they dont come here...thats the truth.
And some feel they own the country they reside in.
Astonishing considering none of us would be here had there not been a boat/ship head to our shores many years ago.
Thats the irony.
Its unfortunate and a true reflection on our society.
Aboriginies and their treatment by us is a good example.
Perhaps we can now understand how they felt and still feel?
If it was a boatload of children only....would we just send them back?
Unfortunately some Aussie folk would say yes.
Sad to be an Aussie at times.
