Two studies show multiple-drug resistant TB, which can be cured only with a monitored cocktail of drugs over months,could start spreading. The reports,in today's issue of the journal Nature Medicine,coincide with a report last week saying the World Health Organisation's efforts to control multi-drug resistant TB were not working as well as hoped. If reports are true,TB could make a dangerous new resurgence. TB infects an estimated 8.7 million people a year and kills two million a year.
